He lives now in Massachusetts.
Cheikh performs solo and with his band, M’bolo.
M’bolo means “Together” in Cheikh’s native language, Wolof.
Cheikh and M’bolo perfom Mbalax, a genre of music which originated in Senegal. It is very high energy and relies heavily on the rhythm of the sabar drums.
